Favorite costumes:
This is a hard choice to make since we pick the characters we cosplay together and I think that all of her costumes are so great. So up until now I believe that the two costumes listed here are by far my favorite.
1. Kaiou Michiru - Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon - collector card (Commissioned) This costume was commissioned due to time issues. That does not take anything away from how perfect she wears it and becomes the character. She had been wanting to do this costume ever since she saw the image of it. We adore cosplaying Michiru/Neptune and Haruka/Uranus and we plan on doing many more of their costumes.
She had so much fun wearing this and being my Michiru at Fanime Con 2007, where it had its debut. The photo shoot that we had with Eurobeat King went very well and we got so many great photos. We got into character and had a blast. She is my perfect Michiru and she looks fantastic in this costume. By the way, I absolutely love that wig on her! She must do more Michiru/Neptune cosplay just so she can wear the wig. ^_^
2. Himemiya Anthy (Bara no hanayome) - Shoujo Kakumei Utena (made by Lady Hoshi) No matter who cosplays as Himemiya Anthy, I will always say that Lady Hoshi is the best cosplayer who has portrayed her. This costume was completely hand sewn which I just find amazing. I could never do that even if I could sew.
I am always her Tenjou Utena and we fully enjoy cosplaying this characters as well. She wore this costume to Fanime Con a few years back and got photographed so many times and was complimented so much. That really made her happy to hear such nice things about her costume that she worked so hard to make. Anthy is not a very happy character but Lady Hoshi always makes her likable.
The colors, from the wig to the dress, are perfect on Lady Hoshi. We always pick the characters we like most rather than what would look good or is popular at the time. Even so, the color schemes always work so well on Lady Hoshi. Have I ever mentioned how photogenic she is? Well, the proof is in the pictures all over this site. ^_^

I know what everyone is thinking...
I, Purelovely, picked my own cosplay partner as the October 2007 cosplayer. So what is up with that? Well, I want to pick cosplayers that I truly do admire so of course I'm going to choose my own partner. She is not only a great cosplayer but a wonderful seamstress. I can't sew at all right now since I don't know how and Lady Hoshi is the one responsible for not only her costumes but mine as well. She's amazing in that way alone. She's also passionate about cosplay. We always pick characters that we really like and we get into it. It makes cosplaying fun. Lady Hoshi, with her skills and passion for the hobby, makes cosplaying a pure joy and I couldn't have asked for a better partner.
You also might be wondering why I haven't picked her for cosplayer of the month until now. Well, that's an easy answer... I wanted to have Lady Hoshi be the October cosplayer because she always gets so excited about Halloween because of the costumes and such. Cosplay and Halloween go hand in hand and they are two of her favorite things. |
