CON REPORT
Here is a short
version of our con report for now.
We're back from Nan Desu Kan 2007. It
was a great year. Sadly, Purelovely, forgot a piece from both the
Utena AND Haruka costumes but it worked out okay.
Thursday - Nan Desu Kan 2007 vacation begins!
After meeting each other at the Denver airport we went to the hotel
to check in and we got a balcony room (room #366). It is always so
weird to be at the con hotel a day early because it is so empty. We
feel asleep for a few hours since we both had been awake the night
before packing and waiting to go to the airport since we each had
early morning flights and didn't want to miss our planes. We went to
get groceries so we'd have food and supplies during our stay. Later
that night, we went to Benihana where Purelovely had sushi and Lady
Hoshi had some noodle dish. We went back to the hotel and had a
pretty quiet night watching TV and preparing for cosplay the next
day.
Friday - Himemiya Anthy and Tenjou Utena (TV rosebride and duelist)
cosplay day!
We had a photo shoot with Al. We finally got some great photos of
this costume set. We met Laura and Beverly who were wearing Pirotess
and Deedlit. They looked amazing and they were so nice.
Saturday - Kaiou Michiru and Tenou Haruka (collector card) cosplay
day!
We went to the Sera Myu show and got free prizes for cosplaying as
Sailor Moon characters. The show was great and Purelovely got some
of it on video. Purelovely wants to have a Sera Myu costume one day
now. ^^; We went to the dance where Purelovely managed to get some
more video footage.
Sunday - Technically a "no cosplay" day
Even though it was a no cosplay day,
Purelovely wore a Harajuku-like outift and Lady Hoshi was wearing a
lolita outift.
We made our last round through the dealers' room and saw the "You
Don't Know Jack About Anime" gameshow (they said it was the last
year for it and that sucks because it's a great show).
Monday - Sad day. Post-con depression sets in!
We each had to go back home. Purelovely had to go back to Indiana
and Lady Hoshi to California. It was a depressing thing to do yet
again. Purelovely got sick on this day and ended up staying home
from class the next day.
Purelovely is the main photographer for Fire & Ice Cosplay but she
hasn't been taking very many pictures at cons as much as she used to
and this con was no exception. She got a video camera recently and
has focused on taking video more than photos. |
