Bariloche

November 2006

From Villa la Angostura we took a bus down to Bariloche, the biggest and most touristy town of the lakes district. The following two pictures are from about the same spot, the top of a chair lift out at the edge of town on two separate days. Yes the white dots in the first picture are snow flakes.

We took a very strenuous all day hike up this mountain to a refuge where Miriam's finger is pointing.

Here is the picture to prove we were there.

We had a rental car and drove out to Llau Llau, 30 miles west of Bariloche. On a different day we came out and did a short (4hr) hike in this area but the weather wasn't this nice. Patagonia is a lot more expensive than the rest of Argentina. The hotel Llau Llau in the background is a famous one that goes for around $350 a night. No we did not stay there.

This is from about the same place but looking back in the other direction towards Bariloche which would be off the picture to the left.
