202 Test III
Last updated 4/1/98
- Topics covered:
- Chapters 21 (sections on transformers and EM radiation) , 22, 23, 24, 25.6
- Skip sections 21.2 through 21.7 and 22.2, 22.8 (we may have to skip a few other sections, check back before the test).

Hints!?
- No sheet of equations.
- Constants will be provided.
- You must show the instructor an empty calculator memory before the test starts.
- Any interesting material from these chapters not covered in class is a possible bonus question such as:
- Abberation (spherical and chromatic).
- Mirages.
- Rainbows.
- Measuring the speed of light.
- Hygen's principle.
- The following problems are likely (assuming we get to all this):
- A problem involving the frequency, wavelength and speed of electromagnetic waves.
- A transformer problem or question.
- A problem about the power in an electromagneic wave.
- A problem with Snell's law and the index of refraction including total internal reflection.
- Problems with spherical mirrors and thin lenses of all types.
- Problems about double and single slit interference/diffraction.
- A problem about thin film interference.
- A question about polarization.
- A problem about limit of resolution.
