RESEARCH INTERESTS:
My primary areas of research involve leadership, with a primary emphasis on the supervisor-subordinate relationship, workplace influence processes, and worker attitudes and behaviors.

CONSULTING/RESEARCH ENGAGEMENTS:
In the process of working as an academic, I have been able to consult/research a number of organizations.  Specifically, I have performed work for FAPEO, Scott-McRae, and two divisions of the Florida Department of Health.

(1) LEADERSHIP - I am interested in the impacts leaders have on their followers.  A particular lens that I have used to examine this relationship is the LMX (leader-member exchange) lens.  This looks at the supervisor-subordinate dyad and how that relationship impacts a number of important worker attitudes and behaviors.

(1a) NEGATIVE LEADER BEHAVIOR - I am very interested in negative leader behaviors, which include but are not limited to, abusive supervision, workplace bullying, and dysfunctional workplace behaviors.

(2) WORKPLACE INFLUENCE PROCESSES - In this realm, I enjoy studying various aspects of workplace politics, employee use of political skill, and employee impression management behaviors.

(3) WORKER ATTITUDES AND BEHAVIORS - These areas of study primarily focus on reasons for employees feelings of job satisfaction, as well as the reasons for their performing optimally and either staying/leaving their current place of employment.
