To add a header go to View – Header and Footer (Optional)

The header and footer boxes will appear along with the “Header and Footer” tool bar. 

This box will allow you to add the page you are on, the number of pages in the document, date, time, and switch between header and footer.

to create the second line your must first type subtitle and the press tab twice.  The insertion point will appear on the right margin and all you have to do is type and the date will be right aligned.

To Place a date that will automatically update. Go to insert date and time.  This screen will appear.

 

Choose the style you want and make sure you check the box marked “Updated automatically” .  Now each time you open this document it will insert the new date and time.

 

Change Page Orientation and Margins sizes

 

v      Go to File page setup

v      Change from orientation to Landscape

v      Change margins to .6 for right, left, top, and bottom.

 

The page will look something like this when these changes have been made.

 

 

 

 

Place into 3 columns

Go to format- columns

 

This screen will appear

Choose 3 columns for a phamlet

Here is a sample of how it will look.

 

Inserting a Break

To create the title in the first column use a column break. Place insertion point where you want the break to start. 

 

Go to Insert-break

 

This screen will appear. 

Choose:

v      Page break if you want it on a new page

v      Column break if you want to start in a new comlum. 

Here is an example of a column break. 

Now if you move the picture and title down in the first colum,  the other columns stay in place.

 

 

Formating Graphics

To format or change the way a graphic looks click on the graphic and the picture toolbar should appear.

 

If it does not go to view toolbars and make sure picture is checked.

 

Click on pictue of little dog and these selection will appear.  I choose either square or tight to make the text wrap around the graphic

Notice the graphic now has little circles.  You can move it anywhere or change its size and the text will wrap around it.   This is a good way to fill in any white space let on a phamplet, so it has the look of being complete and coveing the whole page.

 

Format graphic of pig so the word will wrap around it and place it between the second and third columns.

The little green circle will rotate your graphic.
