I have selected my professional direction and am dedicated to my work with special needs students at the middle school level. I find it is extremely challenging and provides an opportunity to serve my community.
I have taught for eight years, most of it many years ago in Oregon. I have worked as a program assistant the last several years. I currently work at Tell City Junior High School as a program assistant in the special needs department. I am certified to teach first grade through eighth grade in the classroom and also hold a library media license for grades K-12. Presently, I am pursuing a master’s degree in elementary education at Indiana University Southeast.
The chance to teach and foster human growth is a rare privilege and I hope that I am up to the challenge.
I have been married for almost 19 years. My husband is a wonderful man who has many hobbies, model airplanes and model trains being among them. I also have a teenage son who is just that, a teenager. He is active in boy scouts, band, and his church.
I love to ride my motorcycle with my husband. (My son is afraid to get on it.) I have many hobbies, as I really do have a hard time sitting still. I have actually thought it would be great to try building and flying airplanes with my husband. I will try almost any craft out there, given enough time, space, and money. I love to quilt, cross-stitch, sew, read, do crosswords, solve puzzles, and scrapbook, to name just a few.
My grandmother used to tell me “You take all the boy out of a man, all you have left is an old grouch.” I think it is a universal truth, and applies to all women.
