Course schedule

Friday, August 7:  I've graded the final exams and posted final course grades on Post'Em in OnCourse.  Please contact me as soon as possible if you have any questions.

Thursday, August 6:  Concerning the final exam:   The last problem was supposed to cover section 11.4, but I had forgotten that I had promised not to test that section.  So I will not grade that problem (the exam only will have 17 problems).  My sincere apologies if this caused anyone undue trouble in the exam!  There was also a minor issue with problem 2—I forgot to say the compounding would be monthly.  I'll be careful when grading this problem to avoid penalizing anyone for not compounding monthly.

I should have the exams graded by tomorrow late afternoon.

Sunday, August 2:  I've set the due date for all of the homework for Thursday, August 6, to give everyone a chance to earn more points and to help everyone study for the final.

Friday, July 31:  I've graded Test 3 and I have updated progress grades in OnCourse.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Here is the study guide for the final exam.

Tuesday, July 28:  Here's the study guide for Test 3, which is on Thursday.

Friday, July 17:  I've graded Test 2 and I have posted progress grades in OnCourse.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Friday, July 10:  Here's a study guide for Test 2 (which is on Thursday).

Friday, July 10:  I found out what's going on with TVM Solver in our calculators:  To get the correct answer on the problem we were working on (to find the number of months until an annuity reached a certain future value), enter PMT as a negative number and FV as positive then solve for N.  Many thanks to my colleague Ms. Rose Riehm for clueing me in on this.

Wednesday, July 8:  I've posted progress grades on OnCourse.  (You'll have to look at Post'Em in OnCourse; see my directions in my announcement in OnCourse.)  Please let me know if you have any trouble seeing your grades or if you have any questions about your grades.

Friday, July 3:  Here is a study guide for our first test, which is on Tuesday.

Wednesday, July 1:   Here is the corrected annuity example I showed in class yesterday.

Tuesday, June 30:  To sign up for the online homework system, MathXL, you will need the course ID: XL0C-Y1JX-901Y-59T2.  Here are more instructions.  Please let me know if you have any trouble with this!

I will extend the deadline on Monday and Tuesday's homework a couple of days, to give everyone more time to register for MathXL and get used to the system.  Again, please let me know if you have trouble with this.
