*** Welcome back from the summer break. We are happy to see both
familiar and new faces in our nursing program. We would like to welcome the new
class and invite them to join the SNA here at IUS. There is an upcoming SNA
General Meeting where students interested in the SNA may come to learn more
about the organization.
NEXT GENERAL MEETING: Tuesday October 7th at
ATTN SENIORS: Graduation Meeting on Monday, October 6th immediately
after class.

Our events calendar is updated monthly or as needed and includes meeting dates, scheduled activities such as guest speakers or picnics, and deadlines important to the student.
Our various committees update their reports monthly or as needed and give complete information on the purpose of the committee, meeting dates and summary of latest meeting, and detailed information on any projects currently in progress.
Our message board is a wonderful place to catch books,
uniforms, and miscellaneous articles for sale as well as any tips, words of
wisdom, humor, or most anything a reader wants to share with our readers. An
example of how important you involvement is to you organization!

WHAT IS THE IUS-SNA AND THE NSNA?
The IUS-SNAA is a pre-professional organization for student nurses. We are a constituent chapter of the IANS(Indiana Association of Student Nurses) and the National Student Nurses' Association(NSNA). Our local chapter offers many services including community projects, mentoring programs, opportunities for leadership and professional growth, and special guest speakers on health care issues throughout the academic year. The purpose of the IUS-SNA as stated in the 1996-1997 Bylaws, Article III, Section 1 are:
A. To assume responsiblity for contributing to nursing education in order to provide for the highest quality of health care.
B. To provide programs representative of fundamental and current professional interests and concerns; and
C. To aid in the development of the whole person, his/her professional role, and his/her responsiblity for the health care of people in all walks of life.
In the following our stated purpose, the IUS-SNA proposes its' mission as follows:
Our mission is to support the students
It is the mission of the National Student Nurses' Assosciation to:
-organize,represent, and mentor students preparing for initial licensure as registered nurses, as well as those nurses enrolled in baccalaureate completion programs;
-promote development of the skills that students will need as responsible and accountable members of the nursing profession and,
-advocate for high quality health care.
