Kid Care Coalition, Inc.
Kid Care Coalition, Inc. is a group of licensed home childcare providers
and assistants who (with the help of Brent Steele) applied for and received a
501(c)3 not-for-profit incorporation status. One of the goals of KCC, Inc.
is to improve the quality of childcare in Washington County.
Kid Care Coalition's largest activity is the annual
"Week of the Child" festival in April. One Saturday in April is
chosen by the board of directors in which members
coordinate and host a free theme based festival of activities for children.
In the years past, we have coordinated a pirate's treasure hunt, a dinosaur dig,
carnival games, a toy tractor-pull, a bubble blowing event, and storytelling
activities. Other organizations and children's services in the community
volunteer to participate in our activities, as well.
The Washington County Community Foundation
assisted Kid Care Coalition, Inc. with the Storytelling Festival, 1999 and Dino-Quest
2000, as well as 2004's Fairy Tale theme.
