Description

            Students will find information relating to the planets and the solar system.  Students will navigate the internet in order to locate information regarding the size and composition of the planets, as well as other facts relating to our solar system. 

 

10 Questions

1.) Identify the inner planets and the outer planets?

2.) What is the mass of the inner planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, & Mars?

3.) What is the mass of each of the outer planets: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, & Neptune?

4.) What are the circular paths the planets travel in called?

5.) What are the two groupings or categories used to classify planets based on composition?

6.) What does our solar system consist of?

7.) What is a satellite?

8.) How many satellites does each planet have?  (create a chart or table)

9.) How long is the moon’s cycle?

10.) What is a blue moon?

 

Activity

Construct a chart comparing the density, size, and composition of each of the planets.
