  3. Specific things you ought to know:
    1. how to construct the constraint or condition matrix A (see pp578, 583, 587)
    2. how to calculate blending function values (see pp 580, 584, 588)
    3. NURBS which are described in more detail within the notes and spline handout
    4. scene graph representations
  4. Specific things you don't need to know:
    1. how to code OpenGL curves

Student project topics will also be included, nothing extremely detailed but you may want to take notes.
