Installation of the computer software used in the course and opening the BlueJ application is covered. The software used is Java version 1.5 and BlueJ version 2.2.1 both of which are located on the CDROM in the back of the text.
Most software is already installed, all that remains is to copy the course textbook projects to the computer desktop.
- Copy course projects to your current computer.
- Click download textbook projects.
- Click the
button for Projects.exe.
- Unzip to folder:
- C:\Users\your username\bluej
- Open BlueJ
- Click Start | All Programs | BlueJ
- Click the
icon.
- Open a project
- Click Project | Open Project
- Type File Name:
- C:\Users\your username\bluej
- Click on:
- chapter01 | shapes
You should now see the following indicating that shapes project has been opened:
Use the text CDROM or download over the Internet.
- CDROM - Insert the CDROM. Open folders jdk\windows and bluej directories for the installation files.
