4. You may use a calculator for tests and quizzes (except for the Skills Assessment Test):
A scientific calculator is recommended.

7. GRADE CALCULATION: Here is how your grade will be calculated:
Group Work/Activities 15%
Quizzes 10%
4 Chapter Tests 50%
Final Test 25%
Here is how your grade will be awarded:
90 - 100% A
80 - 89% B
70 - 79% C
60 - 69% D
less than 60% F
If you fail the final exam (less than 60%), the
maximum course grade possible is a “C”.

Quizzes – There will be approximately 10 Quizzes given (every Wednesday unless
there is a Test that week). The lowest
two will be dropped. There will
be no make ups on quizzes.
9. Expectations – Students are expected to attend class, do all assignments, read the book, and be
considerate of everyone in the classroom.

Homework – Students
are responsible for doing and correcting their own homework. Homework
may be collected if it seems necessary. The material that will be on the Quizzes will
come from problems similar or exactly from the homework problems.
11. GroupWork/Activities – This work will be done in class. You MUST be present in class in order
to obtain points for group work or activities.
11. Skills Assessment Test – There will be a skills assessment test given on fractions, integers, and
decimals. You must answer 27 of 31 problems correct in order to pass
the test. This assessment test will not count for any part of your grade.
If you do not pass it, you cannot pass this course. You will not be able
to use a calculator, there is no time limit, and there is no partial credit
given on any problem.
