At this entertaining, educational, interactive camp, designed for 9-14 year-olds, children receive training to write and deliver a presentation of their choice, and they learn skills in interpersonal communication. Children will learn to… · create and deliver an organized speech with an introduction, body, and conclusion. · work with visual aids. · deliver a speech from note cards. · improve their listening skills. · understand how the self-concept is created and find ways to improve theirs. · know the cause of an emotion and possible ways to change the emotions they are feeling. · realize the influence of nonverbal communication. · learn the impact of their words and choose the right word to match what they mean to say. · discover different influences on perception. |

The camp meets from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on February 2, 9, 16, and 23 at IUS. The cost per child is $110 for the four-week session and includes workshop materials and snacks at every session. IUS is located at 4201 Grant Line Road in New Albany, Indiana. |
