Project 1 – Logo Design

Due – Feb. 12

You will design and execute a logo for the yourself. The solution will be done in black and white, be six inches in its longest dimension, be simple and strong in nature, strive to be non-directional and use shapes rather than lines for strength. The project will be presented to me on a vertical, 8 1/2 by 11 inch sheet of white paper. You will turn in two copies of your logo, with your name on the back, in a pocket folder with your name on it.

The reason for this project, as stated by my mentor, Bill Korbus, is “logo design is the simplest distillation of design principles, [and] this project will give you an opportunity to demonstrate your ability to use the … design principles in a single piece.”

The logo will be clean, professional and a piece that shows pride in your work.
