My primary academic interests are cultural and historical geography. Particularly I am drawn to religions, music, film, trees, cultural landscapes, folk culture, maps, piracy, things ancient, medieval, and pagan… and animals of all kinds.

· Born in Seattle (1958), grew up in Indianapolis,

graduated from North Central High School (1977)

· Graduated from Purdue (International Agriculture 1980)

· Peace Corps in Cameroon 1981-82

· Masters in Geography, University of Washington 1985

· PhD in Geography from LSU (Baton Rouge) 1991

· Taught at St Norbert College in Wisconsin 1989-1993 IU Southeast Campus

· Moved to New Albany IN to teach at IU Southeast 1993
