Many students are unaware of
the population size of their own town and especially their own state. If asked,
many students could not even name the top ten cities in their state in terms of
rank due to population. The goal of this
lesson is to assist students in learning more about their state and its importance
in the scope of our nation. The teacher will give the students the names of the
top ten cities in
Procedures:
1)
Students will be
taken to the computer lab.
2)
Students will be
instructed to open Microsoft Excel.
3)
Students will be
given the names of the ten most populated cities in

Students will
research the actual population (based on year 2000 Census data) using the
Internet.
5)
Students will
input their data and create a bar graph.
