I have traveled extensivly in my life, mostly to places I just felt like going. It started when I was a little lad, and my family would take a yearly trip to philadelphia(where most of my relatives are). we would sometimes go to new york city or the jersey shore, and some of my fondest childhood memories were of those trips. I still often drive to philly to visit my family and eat REALLY good food
The pages with my trip pictures and descriptions are below. my first real adult trip was to greece in 1990, I saw a movie called summer lovers set in an agean island named santorini, and the place seemed so beautiful I just had to go.
A year later, my sisters and I went to the islands of hawaii. This was before I had developed good travel habits (I didn't know where to go and stuff) And I didn't have much money(see that web page for consequences) but I liked hawaii a lot anyway.
a couple of years after that, I organized a family trip to the US virgin islands. Before this I was bad about liking travel, this trip made me a travel FREAK. The less developed caribbean islands are a paradise. You just can't believe how nice they are until you've seen them.
A few years after that, after I broke up with my first girlfreind, I went back to the USVI all by myself and stayed at a campground(cinnamon bay), this trip set such a standard for relaxation that I compare all my vactions to it.
That same year, I met my girlfreind(now my wife), melissa. The next year we took a long vacation together, driving to alabama, Ft. lauderdale, the Bahamas and Key West. The bahamas turned melissa and danny into travel freaks just like me.
The next several years, melissa danny and I usually went to the florida keys in the summer. These trips got better and better as we learned where the cool stuff was, how to snorkel, and the cool places to stay.
I was unable to afford to go to the USVI for 4 years, it was like torture to me. One year, I bought a ticket to the USVI for my girlfreind, figuring that since my girl and I didn't have enough money for us both to go, I could at least show her how beautiful it was. The next year, tho, we had enough money and we both went and had a great time.
In 1997 I decided I HAD to go to a "real" ski resort. I did some reading and it seemed that Jackson Hole Wyoming was the most real. Itried to get to go that year, but financial bad stuff kept happining, so I couldn't co until 1999. I went in late jan 1999, found out that jackson hole was a little TOO real for me (heaven for suicidal psycos there) but had a great time anyway.
The year 1999(between jan99 and mar00) I traveled my butt off. I went to JH wyoming in jan, went to the FL keys in march, went to origins (gaming geek convention in columbus OH) in july, then to the North carolina shore with my family in july, then to idianapolis twice in sep/oct, had to go to a funeral in Philly in oct, went back to the USVI in nov with melissa and danny(and the british virgin islands {drool}). Then to Steamboat Colorado for a ski trip in early february with a bunch o freinds (Wonderful place, and not too "real" for me)
In 2001, I went to vail/beavercreek for a couple of days in march, and melissa and I got married on St. john usvi in june. we had a 2 week vacation half in th US virgin islands, and half in the british virgins. that was an immensely enjoyable and relaxing trip, even with the wedding complications (It was a very nice wedding too).
Of course, this page is still in progress ;-}}, because I am gonna continue to travel until I drop.
