presentation Lesson Presentation

Visuals can be a great teaching tool to support and enhance student learning.  Likewise, multimedia resources (audio-visuals) incorporated into the classroom can go even further.  Presentations that provide for student interaction with the presenter or presentation are even better.

Your task will be to create an audio-visual presentation using PowerPoint as a base.  The presentation must be geared toward your grade level or subject area and must be connected to current academic standards (either Indiana or Kentucky).  In addition to creating the presentation, you will also be asked to share your presentation with the class - demonstrating how it would be used within your classroom.  This presentation should take no longer than five minutes.

As stated, it is imperative that the presentation be based on the academic standards for your grade level or subject area.  You will have to make a slide or slides that state(s) the grade level or subject area and lists all the academic standards covered in the presentation.  Please provide only those standards covered in the presentation.  When listing the standards, please list them in their entirety; do not simply give us the standard numbers/codes.  The presentation should cover an appropriate number of standards.

The academic standards can be found by visiting the Indiana Department of Education Web Site or the Kentucky Department of Education Web Site.

Use the lesson presentation rubric as a guide for this assignment and to ensure it is correctly submitted for assessment purposes.  Students must present their lesson to the class if they hope to receive complete credit.  Students failing to present for whatever reason will lose 60 points automatically (see rubric).  No exceptions will be made.

The teacher is an important part of the presentation.  He/She is the main source of information - not the presentation itself.  Thus, it is difficult to post examples devoid of the teacher's presence.  We will, however, look at several examples in class.  Don't miss it!
