Kathleen Walsh Free is an Associate Clinical Professor at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Indiana, and has more than 25 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing, including cardiology, oncology, and orthopedic nursing. Kathleen is an Adult Nurse Practitioner specializing in the treatment of chemical dependency.

Kathleen has served as a content reviewer for several nursing textbooks, including: 

LeMone: Medical-Surgical Nursing: Critical Thinking in Client Care, 5th Edition (2009).
Black and Hawks: Medical-Surgical Nursing, 8th Edition(2008).
Porth: Pathophysiology: Concepts of Altered Health States (2007).
Bates:  Guide to Physical Examination and History Taking, 9th Edition (2007).

Kathleen teaches in the Health Assessment, Nursing Fundamentals, Medical-Surgical Nursing, and Capstone courses, and is the author/editor of 12 games that promote critical thinking in nursing education and nursing staff.
