Task

1.                   You will move through the web quest learning facts about each worker along the way.

2.                  Once you have completed the Process, you will create a Memory Game.       Get 12 index cards from your teacher.  On 6 of the index cards, write the names of the 6 community helpers.  The other 6 index cards are for you to describe the helpers job.

Ex.

1.                   When finished with the web quest you will use critical thinking skills and apply it to your own life by drawing a picture of what you want to be when you grow up.

Evaluation

Checklist for Evaluation:

·         Was the writing taken through the five steps of the writing process successfully?

o        Did you include capital letters, periods, details, correct spelling, and correct spacing?

·         Was the writing and drawing neat and clear?

·         Was the matching game properly put together? (Do the facts match up with the job?)

·         Was the project turned in on time?

·         Do you understand why each job is important?

·         Is your name and date on the paper?

Conclusion

Wow!  You did it!  You now know what it takes to make a community work.  Without each and every job, a community would fall apart.  Thanks to everyone for the job that they do!

Questions to ponder:

??  What would happen if some jobs were not filled in a community?

??  Why is it important to learn about the different jobs in a community?

??  What were your favorite/least favorite parts of this assignment?
