Key Terms Handout- These are terms the students must be able to identify.  They need to know how the terms are connected with larger historical perspectives.  The definitions can be found in the index of the textbook.  Most terms are in bold print throughout the text.

Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences- This is a time when the parents can meet with me and discuss any questions or concerns they may have with the curriculum.  I believe that it will be very beneficial for the students to be present during these meetings.  It allows them to be active in their own education and to connect with their parents on the responsibilities of the course.

Review Terms- Each week the students are given time to review the terms that were assigned on Mondays.  If they have any questions about them, time is allotted in class for clarification.  Before the test all key terms are reviewed.

Test Prep and Study Guide- This class period is solely for review.  We will go over the broad themes covered in class.  A study guide of possible essay questions and example questions will be handed out.

Review for Test- Class time will be allotted for studying.  The study guide will be reviewed and and questions will be answered.

Global Connection- The BIG headlines from newspapers and news television will be discussed.  This is an open forum for the students to ask questions about current news events they may not understand.  Through group work, the students will learn about major events taking place around the world.
